Using objects, words and images, the Scottish poet Thomas A Clark transformed the Terrace Gallery into a space of quiet and reflection. Outside, in the landscape garden, Clark made several discreet interventions; poems for garden benches, the entrance to the Walled Garden, and Owl House.
Clark’s exhibition shifts our perception of Brown’s landscape to a more interior and intimate one, less perhaps about looking and more about the thoughts and associations evoked by this great Romantic landscape.
